Meet Jillian
Hello, I’m glad you’re here.
My name is Jillian and I am the owner and founder of Align Psychology. I am a registered psychologist (#4526) with the College of Alberta Psychologists and I am a member of the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta. I also hold registration authorizing interim autonomous practice with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. This means I am licensed to practice with those residing in both Alberta and Ontario.
Since my teenage years, I’ve known I wanted to become a psychologist. I’ve always been drawn to meaningful conversations, understanding human behaviour, and exploring ways to cultivate self-awareness, well-being, and authentic connection with others. This passion guided my path through a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Lethbridge and a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.
For over 17 years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting adolescents, adults, and families across non-profit and public mental health settings. My experience includes work in schools, residential and day treatment programs, and outpatient care. Much of my clinical focus has been in the area of eating disorders, where I’ve provided meal support, Family-Based Treatment (FBT), and individual, group, and family therapy.
My therapeutic approach integrates Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Family-Based Treatment (FBT), and intuitive eating principles. I aim to create a compassionate, inclusive, and non-judgmental space - one that supports alignment and connection with self. Grounded in a weight-neutral, anti-diet perspective, my work incorporates mindfulness and self-compassion as pathways toward healing and growth.
I believe therapy isn’t just about feeling better… it’s about knowing yourself more deeply. It’s a space to turn toward your inner world with curiosity and compassion, to understand the patterns that once protected you, and to discover new ways of being. Clients often describe our work as grounding and gently transformative… a process of returning to the truest version of themselves.
Outside of work, life is full and lively with my husband and three children. I love being outdoors, soaking up sunshine, camping, and practicing Pilates. When I’m not chasing or cleaning up after little humans - or feeding my sourdough starter (which I never actually bake with) - you’ll usually find me curled up on the couch with sparkling water and reality TV, or lost in a good book or podcast.
